For me there are not particularly any "guidlines" or 'specifications" for defending women who have been treated inequitably. I have noticed recently, however, that many feminists seem to pick and choose which victims of sexism to defend. To me this is a bit nonsensical. Any woman that has been exploited, be it media, or any other contributing factor should be represented equally by feminists. If women are to recognize any type of unfair treatment occuring to two of the same women, why is it that generally only a precise type of woman is defended?
I believe that it is hypocritical, as a feminist, to pick and choose the type of women that are "worthy" of being defended. When an unjust act is perpetrated, all judgements should be withheld and the bigger issue should be focused on, opposed to the absorbment in some futile factor.
