- Vocalist, guitarist, songwriter in female duo We Rock Like Girls Don't with good friend & drummer Vas, recently described as a "rock behemoth, an open handed demi godess of the skins!" . We run our own label called Distort Records and are releasing our debut album HOW DID IT GET TO THIS on 6th April 2009 via Cargo Distribution. "The kind of awesome rock record we don't hear often enough" NME 8/10 Touring the UK from January and in Europe from March. I also teach rock guitar and wish there were more girls learning!

Female duo We Rock Like Girls Don`t have quite a self explanatory name, which is handy. Glaswegian guitarist/vocalist Ros Cairney recruited Greek drummer Vas Antoniadou through Loot, and after a period of what one might call `musical differences`, the pair are firmly together in their current incarnation, wowing all the right people.

I'm in a band.. we're called Repent Harlequin! but we're very new.. I have been playing/writing music for years myself, but only as a hobby really and used to perform to family/friends-I can be quite shy. An old mate, who is a vocalist, heard my stuff once when he came to visit and begged me to come on board his music project :) So yes, we are now Repent Harlequin! I am a vocalist and play guitar. It's a totally new sound we've been working on and it's coming on great. We're just busy at the moment writing the music.. A website is being made as we speak and we've already recorded about 6 songs which are being produced at the moment. We aim to hit the public with our super-sound about March next year ;) At the moment though, it's all about writing, writing, writing!
So you have your own label? What does running a label entail exactly? How do you push the artists you sign?

Davey said… - hey:) the FRUMPIES is a now-defunct band (i think), made up of 3 out of 4 x-members of bikini kill (everyone except kathleen hanna). they're good. slower....fuzzier....less aggressive. but good. texas is a weirdass place, im still trying to get used to it. im from nj/ny so coming here was like stepping in a backwoods, western time warp. kinda. its WEIRD here, thats all i can say, but i do love it. not too many people take such immense pride in themselves like texans too. i see people all the time in shirts that say stuff like "9/11: REMEMBER THE ALAMO", and "TEXAS IS BIGGER THAN FRANCE". its hard to not admire thier optimism, you know?

I have had friends do that with great sucsses. They are boys unfortunatlly that is a little more common, so it is great that you guys are doing it. I will have to go to your myspace page and take a listen. I do love your music taste. I also really love your cats name that is great. It's awsome that you teach too. I wish more people would do that because my kids love to learn guitar and drums and that kinda thing...Good luck with everything...take care ...m
