I grew up in a small town in Washington state and then moved around alot, Europe for a few years and then to California and now I live about 20 min. away from Portland, Oregon. My college had an amazing gender studies program the woman who ran it was totally involved with the whole riot girrrl scence from Olympia and we had some pretty amazing guest speakers. She was pretty fierce. I have to say though I really liked that even though we mostly talked about the female gender she didn't put off the male gender and gave some interesting reading about that topic like the book Stiffed. I really like all kinds of books. My son is really into science and I've been trying to get him to read some fic or nonfic besides science so we've been reading a book calledd the City of Ember. It's pretty good...I must say that I didn't know that SLC had a big activist comm. that is cool. So where are you planning to go after college? Take care...m

So amazing those women pushed so many boundries in the writing, publishing and art world. I also love love to read...it is cool because my daughter she is almost 7 loves books....and the good ones too...not crazy disney books and such...good luck on the degree...How is livin in Utah? I had a friend who lived there and didn't like it so much.
