Comment by Lost soul on October 10, 2009 at 11:42pm - How did you become a riotboy? For me, I was always looking for that one style of music that I could really connect with. I listened to metal, rap, classical, classic rock, pop - hell, I tried everything. Or so I thought. I was watching MTV (when they actually had music on MTV), and a video came on. As I watched it, and listened to the music and lyrics, I felt connected. Connected completely with the song, with the music,with everything about it. It just felt right. The video? Doll Parts by Hole. After that, I researched Hole and discovered the riotgrrl scene. Bands like L7, Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, and others followed. I love all things riotgrrl, but I hold a special appreciation to Courtney Love and Hole for opening my eyes and my heart.
