There’s a certain charm to being awake at 6 in the morning. It’s peaceful cause everybody’s asleep - it’s probably the only time we ever get to be truly alone - sleeping or not. It’s beautiful. I downloaded the Nirvana discography yesterday - I don’t exactly know what prompted me, but I’m glad I did. There’s a lot of shit I haven’t heard in there. There’s one song called Here She Comes Now that I just chucked on randomly and its fucking perfect - especially for this occasion. It’s early morning kind of music, for me. It’s not a heavy song by any means, and as a cover of The Velvet Underground song, you know that time went into the creation a Kurt version. The lyrics are very short and repeated without you noticing or even caring for that matter because somehow it’s so fucking powerful - and that’s a trick both Kurt and Lou Reed pull off really well. The first time I heard this was when Mr. Iscariot downloaded the Melvins and Nirvana split single that they released in 91′ - Melvins did a cover of Venus In Furs, which is, well - just listen to it. This still sounds so fresh, yet its old and based on an even older song. Beyond this post-modern perspective we all gaze through perhaps. Whatever it is, whenever I listen to Nirvana I become very reminiscent.
