NEW MUSIC

Sure, all the grrrl classics are great, but there's something I've noticed about this and many female centered music forums:

People rarely discuss any new bands. There's a veritable smorgasbord of decent female bands out there but they seldom get mentioned (apart from that thread that Laura started - but it died out pretty quickly).

As someone who is in a band, I'm always looking for new music to be inspired by and get into.
Hit me with some thoughts - it's all about sharing.

Just signed up to listen to the free tracks so I'll definitely give you a shout with what I think! I'm the singer in The Love Me Nots (not to be confused with the co-ed garage band of the same name). We're recording over the next couple of weeks so we'll put some stuff up on Myspace then - our old recordings are totally out of date now.

But if anyone has any recommendations or a band they love or are all excited about, shout!

Currently, I am enjoying:

La Roux - Quicksand
MIA - Paper Planes
hey girl! - Always Be My Baby (this recording literally made me fall in love with this band. Cutest thing EVER)
Finally Punk - Finally, a NEW riot grrrl band that sound like the originals!

i mean, we can talk about metal music but there can be girls that dont like metal... or we can talk about psychobilly or maybe we can talk about folk music... :P i dont know im just giving an opinion :S

there are so many bands from girls that i like, theres this hardcore band from Argentina called TRUST and another one called "she devils" from Argentina too...
